Cooler Master Sentinel III Gaming Mouse Review
As the year 2016 begins, we are slowly collecting new interesting peripherals for reviews. The first in a row will be the Cooler Master Sentinel III gaming mouse. The mouse features not only a comfortable palm grip design but also a couple of very useful functions. Many advanced gamers will soon find out if the mouse they are using suits their demands perfectly or not at all. Cooler Master Sentinel III is there to take the challenge. How? let’s find out together. Starting as usual with quick unboxing and look at the package itself. The front side is showing us nice top view of the mouse and main features are listed at the back of the package. Users are able to open the front cover and so at least have the first contact with the mouse.
The mouse has acrylic backlighted top panel and matte coating which makes it comfortable during fast movements. It also feels colder on acrylic surface as the rest of the mouse.
The design of the Cooler Master Sentinel III is pretty ergonomic and suits well for users with bigger hands as well. It is designed mostly for palm grip gamers, but also no bad for finger tip grip. The clicks are louder than let’s say SteelSeries Rival Series. The mouse features 8 buttons, where one of the left sided buttons marked TX ( called Storm TX) can switch all buttons to be used with additional functions. This TX button is in pretty good position and not prone to be accidentally pushed during gaming. Between the scroll wheel and top acrylic panel are DPI buttons for on-the-fly DPI adjustments of 400 / 1200 / 4000 / 6400 pre-configured. Of course you can adjust DPI for your needs individually with software which we look at later below. Very useful is the option to even adjust the weight by removing the weight bits out of the socket. Again easy to open, easy to access no problems at all.
Turning the mouse upside down, we can see big mouse slider pads along both sides of the bottom and small at the back as well as between two headlights in front . The Cooler Master Sentinel III is using Avago 3988 sensor with pretty high 6400 DPI. This allowing user to switch between very fast and very slow movement when needed. The braided cable is 1.8m long which should work with most systems. This mouse is designed only for right hand.
Customizable headlights as well as acrylic top illuminates with LED full spectrum 16.8 million colors.
In addition to that gamers can see their DPI settings and even the Logo which can be easy uploaded to mouse and so changed to your own Logo with 32×32 pixels. The software is very intuitive and very easy to use. You can program your buttons or change colors and logo with couple clicks.
The software can save your own macros and so the gamers have quick access to their individual game setting profiles. The illuminations is actually fun to setup where you choose pre-defined options or creates your own. Press “Apply” and you are ready to play.
Under “main control” you can setup four individual DPI Levels, Storm TX key assignment, lift off distance, USB polling rate, and couple more settings like button response time or double click speed.
