Enermax Liqmax II 120S Review
Not long time ago Enermax has released the Liqmax II 120S, as an update to well known Liqmax 120S AIO liquid cooler. There are two variant in this product line. The 120S for mainstream users and 240 for users with higher demands.
This new series features new fan blades design, better tubing and CPU block / pump combo. What we like at packaging itself is that front side shows the main features of the product and more important ( at least for some of us) the backside shows the dimensions of the cooler and radiator. We wish to see this on every product package. It helps users to decide whether it can fit in their chassis or not.
So what’s actually new? Well, the fans were redesigned with so called “Double Batwing” fan blades. As Enermax claims to be an enhancement in high air flow rate while reducing the noise generation. In addition to that, they also implemented adjustable peak speed function switch on the fans and automatic PWM fan control. The fan therefore offers three various RPM ranges: Silent Mode / Performance Mode / Overclock Mode.
To get fan decoupling little bit more effective, the frame is equipped with rubber pads to reduce the vibration and noise generation.
Tubing is flexible but still very resistant against kink. Poly-amide material guarantee a non-permeable and long-lasting operation. As both ends are sleeved, it is not possible to add any other components to loop.
The contact surface of the CPU block is made of copper and mirror polished and perfectly flat. Before mounting the CPU block , don’t forget to remove the protection foil. The micro copper fins has a cut out in the middle to eliminates any heat surge and thus boosts the thermal conductivity of already optimized micro channel technology which we can see by almost every CPU block nowadays.
Radiator is made of aluminium and features high fin density (FPI). Side plates are pressed out for more stability and also to show the Enermax Logo.
