Enermax Liqtech 240 Review
Enermax has some pretty high quality liquid coolers. We are going to have a look at Liqtech 240 (ELC-LT240-HP) with 240mm radiator. This closed loop AIO liquid cooler is able to cool very powerful or even overclocked gaming systems and workstations.
The packing is not the best and we would like to see some hard foam protection instead of just formed carton. But the cooler came intact so let’s have a look and unbox it.
Right after unboxing we can see very good build quality.

High-quality aluminium water block with long-lasting ceramic bearing pump has it’s own cooling fin on top of it for better heat dissipation The logo will light blue after you start the system. The contact area is perfectly polished with flat surface. You can use Intel or AMD mount clips.
There are very thin fins inside of the CPU block for optimal heat transportation. Water flows with high pressure through the copper fins to take the heat away as fast as possible.
The radiator structure provides a seamless contact area and increases the heat dissipation speed. It is already equipped with red rubber stripes to reduce the fan vibration transportation. The build quality of radiator is excellent and very stable. No broken fins as we may find on other radiators. The fins are slid over the aluminum pipes and have better contact so the heat can be transferred faster away. We counted approx. 12-13 FPI (fin per inch) density.
There are two Twister Bearing fans ( with over 100.000 hours MTBF) which are pressure optimized to get enough air flow through radiator, they are quite loud on highest rpm but they also deliver very decent air flow. On low rpm they are barely noticeable.
The fans have adjustable switch at the back which allows users to easy customize the fan speed according to the system requirements. The fan therefore offers three various RPM ranges: Silent Mode / Performance Mode / Overclock Mode.
Mounting process was overall very simple, so we were able to install the block in just couple minutes. Mounting System supports all Intel and AMD CPU: Intel® 775/1150/1155/1156/1366/2011 and AMD® AM2/AM2+/AM3/AM3+/FM1/FM2. High-quality tubes made of rubber guarantee a non-permeable and long-lasting operation combined with great flexibility. The fittings that connects tubes with CPU block are rotational, so you can even change direction of tubing from CPU block for over 45°. Enermax uses Dow-Corning® thermal grease (TC-5121).
To ensure that the results from one review to another are comparable, the Testing Methodology will be the same throughout all reviews, otherwise we will make a note if somethings changed and keep it separately from other results.
All testing was done on test Bench-table with a room ambient temperature of 22- 23°C and if temperature changes we will add delta T °C to the results.
Before testing we run 10 minutes of Prime95 followed by 30 minutes of idling. This warm up period was done at stock CPU core frequency.
For noise testing we ensure the PSU fan is isolated or using fanless PSU and we don’t use any graphics card. We mostly do fan noise test over night so we have our room as silent as possible.
We take values at IDLE and full load – where all fans run at their maximum speed.
Testing system :
For testing we used OCCT software and between each test we left the PC at least 15 minutes to rest so that the temperature went back to the IDLE state. Followed by overclocking with help of Easy Tune Software. Each test lasted for 15 minutes. If the temperature of any CPU core exceeded 85°C the test was automatically turned off and the value of the results we have marked as “failed”. The resulting temperature in the tables are the average temperature of all cores. The results of the tests are influenced by many factors such as: the amount of thermal paste, pressure between the processor and CPU block, humidity, thermal conductivity of thermal paste, etc.. Therefore this results should be considered as indicative only.
For this test we use it’s own thermal paste provided by manufacturer.
We are quite satisfied with the build quality which is on a really high level. Little switch that lets you choose the maximum rotation speeds of the rotor is an excellent feature and high-quality ceramic bearing pump which is not as loud as we expected delivers great performance. Installation was very simple and fast with mounting system included for Intel and AMD. Manual was clear so you should have no difficulties at all. We like the specific color and design of radiator and rubber stripes to reduce the fan vibration transportation.
