Level 10 M Advanced Gaming Mouse Review
Thermaltake Level 10 M Advanced Gaming Mouse
Thermaltake just released an update to their existing gaming mouse with the description Level 10 M Advanced. The new version was redesigned and some useful changes were made to further improve already popular design. Let’s have a quick look at the packaging. As always, the packaging by gaming peripherals has to be eye-catching. In this case, the Thermaltake has done good job. The front cover can be opened and users can see the real design from outside at least. On the inner side of front cover we have some main features and specifications. Back side of the package covers more information, which should be as important as the mouse design itself.
The design looks pretty futuristic and has couple hidden features that the gamer will notice over short period of time during gameplay. One of main features is the option to rise or lower the top plate using the 2D-Steering Axis system to make the mouse comfortable and adjustable just for your gaming style grip. To change the position you simply use the hexagonal screwdriver included in package.
The whole upper part of the mouse is actually kind of floating. Putting more pressure on any side will tilt the mouse to that side. Another important feature is the new base plate on the left side where you can place your thumb and so prevent any sliding resistance during fast mouse movements. Also the pinky finger wasn’t just left behind without notice and the design was improved in this area as well.
The surface has nice mate finish where finger prints are not an issue. The main frame is made of aluminium which makes the lower part quite stable. The matte coated surface of mouse buttons gives rather warm feeling to your hand. The hexagonal opening in the middle offers small but at least a bit of air circulation. Both side buttons and the DPI/profile buttons are in non-problematic position.
The scroll wheel is a bit smaller as we are used to see by other gaming mice. But it works without any problems and scrolls quietly. Mouse and scroll wheel clicks are somewhere in the middle range of loudness. Not the most silent, but also not disturbingly loud. The Level 10 M Advanced features OMRON switches with declared 50 million clicks. Every profile setting is followed by different color profile as well. Although you can adjust or even switch them of completely, should they disturb you during gaming. The LED DPI indicator is placed on the right mouse button. The mouse has 3 separately illuminated zones.
The on-board memory allows you to save and load your profile settings instantly. You can save up to 5 profiles with DPI adjustment or macros directly directly onto the mouse. As we mentioned before, the fine color adjustment and poling rate settings can be accessed through the software where you get the overview of your profiles and lighting effects. It’s almost unbelievable that every new gaming peripherals are using RGB illumination, or at least many Brands are pushing it as far as possible. The Level 10 M Advanced is offering nothing less than 16.7 million colors, all easily adjustable directly on the mouse or using the software utility.
It features new AVAGO 9500 laser with astonishing 16000 DPI, which can be adjusted in 100DPI increments. By default pre-selected by manufacturer you are served with 400/800/1600/3200 which are the most used profiles anyway. The sensor has no problems by many different surfaces, although the glass is not the most preferable one. But we all know that already, don’t we? The heart of the mouse is the ARM Cortex-M0-32Bit micro controller SONIX-SN32F248 with 64KB flash memory.
There are four quite big glider pads at the bottom, that glide pretty smoothly on most surfaces. for gamers with extremely high DPI settings, this feature is mandatory. Also the cable has proper braided protection, velcro tie and golden USB connector.

Overall, the mouse made very good impressions during gaming. The weight is acceptable, the futuristic design is a matter of personal taste of course. You either love it or hate it. The true is that the Level 10 M Advanced is pretty comfortable. But, we not recommend it for users who like more rounded edges. Gamers who are used to lift the mouse during gameplay will have hard times with this one, as it’s not possible at al due to its design. We found the design to be most comfortable for gamers with palm grip.
