SilverStone ECU01 PCIe Gen 2.0 x2 expansion card review
One of our editing PCs needed little upgrade. After we added our Enermax Charger ECR501 card reader which is connected using internal USB3.0 port in our PC, we have noticed, we need one more internal USB3.0 connection. This issue was solved with simply adding SilverStone ECU01 PCIe Gen 2.0 x2 expansion card to our system. This card can be your life saver when you are using older systems, mainboards with only USB2.0 support or HTPC. There is also shorter mounting bracket for using in low profile cases.
To power up this card you have to connect it with SATA power cord. You have two internal 19pin USB3.0 connectors. With its overall 10Gbps bandwidth, it offers better transfer rate when multiple external USB devices are in use simultaneously.
The ECU01 supports UASP (USB Attached SCSI Protocol), which enables enhanced performance. Even for users who can’t benefit from UASP, an included “Turbo Boost” driver can offer better performance.
You may get slightly better performance using the Turbo-Driver which can be downloaded from SilverStone page. Very useful is also the additional low profile holder if you wish to use this card in your HTPC or any other low profile PC cases.
